In relation to many other disciplines of Engineering- Biomedical Engineering has only recently been recognised as an independent discipline.
Most of the work in biomedical engineering consists of research and development, spanning a broad array of subfields.
Prominent biomedical engineering applications include the development of biocompatible substances, various diagnostic and therapeutic medical devices ranging from clinical equipment to micro-implants, common imaging equipments, biotechnologies such as regenerative tissue growth, and Drug Delivery Systems and Biomechanics.
The BME department at PDMCE started in 2001 with an intake of 30 students.
As per the AICTE norms we offer summer training for six weeks at the end of 4th and 6th semester. The students are also required to undergo the industry/ research lab / hospital spanning 7th and 8th semester and submit a project report.
The BME department at PDMCE has produced the best results in MDU, Rohtak since its inception.
Besides excellent university results our students have secured placements in MNCs and
other corporate sectors with attractive salaries. Many students have gone
for higher studies abroad and now are working as professionals
in prestigious organisations.
